Skyweaver: The Best Play-to-Earn Crypto Trading Card Game (TCG)

Skyweaver is a well-known game in the world of blockchain gaming, sharing similarities with popular titles like Gods Unchained. If you’re not familiar with blockchain, think of it as a game like Hearthstone or Magic: The Gathering Arena, but designed specifically for web3.

It is an innovative blockchain-based Trading Card Game (TCG) based on the Polygon network that allows players to engage in exciting gameplay while earning income. It is available on multiple platforms including PC, Android, and iOS. It goes much deeper than other blockchain games.

The game offers various competitive modes and leaderboards for players to enjoy. One of these modes is the ranked game mode, which is free to play. In this mode, players can choose between Discovery or Constructed. In Discovery mode, both players select a hero and receive randomized decks based on their chosen hero. In Constructed mode, players have the option to use their own decks that they have created. By winning matches and earning points in these modes, players have the chance to obtain valuable NFT silver cards that can be traded.

“Over the course of the last four years, we have dedicated our efforts to developing Skyweaver, a game that combines exciting gameplay with a user-friendly experience. Our goal is to make Web3 accessible and secure for millions of individuals, allowing them to own, utilize, and appreciate digital assets. Skyweaver serves as a bridge between the Web2 and Web3 gaming communities, offering vast potential for widespread adoption and the expansion of the Skyweaver ecosystem”.

Peter Kieltyka, Co-Founder & CEO at Horizon Blockchain Games, emphasizes our commitment to creating a platform that empowers players to earn rewards, engage with cryptocurrencies, and explore the world of NFTs.

In the world of indie studios and their attempts to create AAA games, only a handful come close to achieving the level of quality players are looking for. And even those are still a long way off from reaching their full potential. Sadly, many others are simply living in a fantasy or blindly hoping that repetition will make their claims come true.

The Conquest game mode offers a slightly more complex gameplay experience. In this mode, players aim to maintain a winning streak to earn better rewards. The quality of rewards improves based on the number of consecutive games won. To participate in Conquest, players need to purchase a ticket using $USDC, a stablecoin, with each ticket priced at 1.5 USDC. Every week, golden NFT cards are available, displaying the total number of minted cards before they are replaced, which adds an intriguing element to the game.

Play-to-Earn (P2E) Mechanics

The concept of play-to-earn is not extensively explored in the context of Skyweaver. Unlike other games that offer their own tokens as rewards for gameplay, Skyweaver allows players to earn money by winning silver or gold NFT cards and subsequently selling them on the market for USDC. This process is facilitated through the Horizon multi-chain smart wallet, Sequence. While Skyweaver may not currently offer as lucrative earning opportunities as some other games, it is important to not overlook its potential.

The developer’s decision to not have a dedicated token, but rather only a stablecoin, is intriguing and I still need to explore its implications fully. It is refreshing and quite unusual to see developers without any signs of greed.

This game is now my go-to example for doubters who claim that blockchain games are just DeFi with a gaming element. Skyweaver stands out as the first game in its category, with a well-developed and finished project. Even if you take away the blockchain technology and NFTs, the game still holds its value and is truly enjoyable to play.
